We are currently setting the stage (beginning the “development lifecycle”) for developing a comprehensive, science-based search of MER data. We plan to conduct a System Requirements Review in late 2024, which will enable us to develop the relational and image databases necessary for the back-end of our search function.
In the meantime, please explore MER images on the Planetary Data System (PDS) Image Atlas! Some of our team members have developed a preliminary search for objects in Pancam images. Click on this link PDS Image Atlas and scroll down until you see the “MER Image Content” menu on the left-hand side. Click on “MER Image Content” to see images that contain the selected content (e.g., distant vista, close-up rock, rover tracks, dunes/ripples).
